Cabin Baggage

Weight Concept : Maximum dimensions of per bag (H + W + L): 115 cm (45 inches)

Piece Concept : The Government of India regulations permits only one piece of cabin baggage on board. The dimensions of which should not exceed 115 linear cms and weight should not exceed 7 kgs.

Baggage Dimensions:





Guests are permitted to carry one laptop over and above one piece of hand luggage as cabin baggage.

Guests traveling on flights originating from Jammu, Srinagar and Leh stations will not be allowed to carry any hand baggage.

Contours are available at all airports to check the dimensions. If it exceeds these specifications, you will be requested to check your bag into the baggage hold. Hand baggage is accepted in the cabin subject to availability of space in the Over Head Bin. Restricted stowage space is also available under the front seat. In the event of no space being available in the aircraft to stow hand baggage, it will be necessary to remove and load the same in the baggage hold as per safety regulations.

Cabin Baggage Allowance
Guests are permitted to carry one piece not exceeding 7 kgs and 115 linear cms (45 inches). On our international routes, for First Class and Première, an additional non rigid framed garmet bag or a laptop is allowed. For departures out of London, only 1 piece is allowed.

Items not permitted in hand baggage
Gels, Alcohol, Liquids, Creams, Lotions, Sharp Articles etc


Guests arriving at Delhi and Mumbai from an international flight and then in transit to another flight (International or Domestic) will not be permitted to carry liquids more than 100ml in their cabin baggage when going through security at these airports.

The ticket shows your free baggage allowance. Allowances may be based on weight or pieces (number of bags)

Note:

Unless and otherwise specified in the fare rule, the 2 piece baggage allowance will apply on all Jet Airways operated flights and Jet Airways Konnect services provided the connecting flights to/from USA/Canada are ticketed in the same ticket as the Jet Airways/Jet Airways Konnect service, failing which excess baggage charges will be applicable.
Excess baggage charges per kg. will be calculated at the rate of 1.5% of the M2JK fare for Jet Airways Konnect services and at the rate of 1.5% of the Adult Economy class normal (Y2) adult fare for Jet Airways full service flights.
Excess baggage charges on the piece concept are calculated at the rate of USD 50 for any piece weighing between 23-32kg and USD 150 for each extra piece. If the extra piece exceeds the maximum dimension and weight, overweight rates will also apply.
Jet Airways will not accept any single piece of baggage weighing more then 32 kgs.
Free Baggage Allowance is applicable only on sectors operated by Jet Airways. Any baggage over the free checked allowance will be charged as excess baggage.

International Travel

Trans Atlantic checked-in baggage policy

Effective Novenber 15 2009, Guests who purchase Economy Class tickets may check one bag for no charge and a second bag for USD 50 Ex-US and EUR 50 Ex-Belgium/Netherlands/Luxembourg/France within the acceptable size and limitations.

Guests who have already purchased Economy Class tickets prior to November 15, 2009 may check two bags at no charge within the acceptable size and weight limitations.

Excess Baggage Charges:

The excess baggage rates for the following sectors:

- London (Heathrow) to Katmandu, Nepal via Delhi - GBP 24.00 per kg.
USA / Canada Overweight rate: USD 50 for any piece weighing between 23-32 kg
Extra Piece: A flat rate of USD 150 (per piece) will be charged for each extra piece. The maximum dimension and weight for each extra piece should be the same as mentioned above, otherwise overweight rates will also apply.
Middle East 1.5% of the highest normal direct adult oneway Y class fare
Africa Based on 1.5% of the Economy class normal YOW IATA fare OR 1.5% of the highest normal direct adult oneway Y class fare whichever is applicable.
On interline journeys, the excess baggage rates of the originating carrier apply. The below mentioned Excess baggage rates are applicable on interline journeys only when Jet Airways is the originating carrier.

Baggage allowance for Jet Airways Konnect

Weight Concept
The Free Baggage Allowance on Jet Airways Konnect will be 20kgs on flights within India.
Ship Crew is entitled to 40kgs baggage allowance on domestic flights as long as the necessary parameters are met.

Piece concept
The piece concept is applicable to -

Guests traveling to / from USA / Canada and territories.
Guests traveling with 2 pieces less than 46kgs, each piece should not weigh more than 23kgs.

Infants without a seat are permitted one piece at 23kgs.
Children and Infants with booked seats will have the same allowance as adults.

To avail the piece concept, it has to be ticketed on the same itinerary. However, this has to be part of the same journey & should involve stopover of only 24hrs and not beyond.

Excess Baggage
Excess baggage charges are based on 1.5% of the Economy class (M2) fare for a Domestic sector

American Airlines checked-in baggage policy

American Airlines will allow one checked bag free and charge USD 50.00 for the second checked-in bag for guests travelling on American Airlines operated international flights on tickets issued on/after September 14, 2009.

This charge is only applicable on those flights where American Airlines is the first Operating Carrier on a route. Eg: If the guest is travelling BOM-BRU on Jet Airways and BRU-JFK on American Airlines then the charge is not applicable. However on the return journey where the American Airlines is the first carrier on JFK-BRU and Jet Airways is the second carrier on the BRU-BOM flight, the charge will apply.

American Airlines(AA) Carry-On Bag policy

American Airlines has announced a change to their existing carry-on bag policy.

The primary changes are:
The carry-on bag must fit in the AA bag sizer, located in many areas of their terminals, including ticket counters and gates
The carry-on bag cannot exceed any of the following dimensions: 22” long x 14” wide x 9” tall or 114cm (56 x 35 x 23cm)
Pilots traveling on official company business (not working a flight or deadheading) will be permitted one extra carry-on bag in addition to the standard carry-on allowance
Flight Attendants traveling on official company business, whether or not in uniform, will be permitted one extra carry-on bag in addition to the standard allowance
Baggage Allowance for Seamen
In order to benefit sailors/ seamen's, we allow seamen's traveling to join duty or returning home for duty to carry additional 20 kgs of baggage. This free baggage allowance will be in addition to the normal free baggage allowance as mentioned above.

Eligibility: To avail this baggage allowance the ticket should be issued as a seamen discounted ticket based on normal fare with the seamen discount code mentioned on the ticket and should hold a valid CDC.
Baggage Allowance for passengers travelling on migrant visas
Guests travelling on migrant visas* will be permitted to carry a maximum of 40 kilos as free baggage allowance, where the weight concept is applicable on Jet Airways operated international flights and on the connecting Jet Airways operated domestic flights.

The migrant visa baggage allowance can be availed only on the migrant visa holder's first outbound journey and not on subsequent trips.

*Visas eligible for migrant visa baggage allowances are those issued for immigration purposes. Visas also include those issued to dependants of the primary migrant visa holder who are entitled to immigrant status by virtue of their relationship such as spouse, children, fiancee, etc. UK Tier 1 General and dependant visas and Australian Fiancee/Provisional Spouse visas are also eligible.
Please note that where your journey connects with another airline, excess baggage charges of that airline may also apply.
