Itinerary: Delhi – Amritsar - Delhi

About Amritsar:
Hundreds of thousands pilgrims visit Amritsar each year to pray at the Golden Temple or visit the many pre-independence memorials around the city. Named after the holy pool around the begilded Harmandir Sahib (or Golden Temple), Amritsar is equally important for the Jalianwallah Bagh or the witness the ceremonial changing of guard at the Wagah border.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Delhi – Amritsar (by train)
A Yatra Representative will meet you at a pre-decided location (airport or you hotel) and accompany you in an air-conditioned vehicle to the railway station to board the Shatabdi Express train to Amritsar. On arrival in Amritsar at 1305 hours, you will be taken to your pre-booked hotel for your overnight stay.

In the evening, proceed to the Wagah Border (less than 30 kilometers from the city) between India and Pakistan, in an air-conditioned vehicle. An English-speaking guide will accompany you on all sightseeing tours mentioned in the itinerary. At Wagah Border, witness the ceremonial changing of guard, the march-past followed by the singing of national anthem and other patriotic songs. Solders parading in full swing and the sight of India-Pakistan border from such close quarters will evoke a sense of nostalgia.

After a trip down the memory lane, return to your hotel and spend the night.

Day 2: Amritsar - Delhi
After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Amritsar. Visit the famous Golden Temple located in the heart of the city, Jalianwallah Bagh, a memorial built to commemorate the martyrs of the 1919 massacre; the Durgiana Mandir, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga and Baba Atal Rai Tower. After exploring the historical landmarks of Amritsar, return to your hotel and spend the night.

In the afternoon, you will be transferred to railway station to board the Shatabdi Express back to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi railway station you will be assisted by a Yatra representative and dropped at the international airport or any point of your convenience in Delhi for your onward journey.
